We continued our tradition of heading up to Birch Bay State Park in the morning.
Xander threw rocks into the water and spelled out his own special version of the alphabet in the sand.

In the late afternoon we all headed to the Rosellis for a barbecue and kid-friendly fireworks.
Throwing a "firecracker" to the ground (just a tiny bag of sand with a smidge of gunpowder that lets off a little pop! sound). Our sometimes-timid boy who doesn't like big noises really loved them.
Clare spent all the time at the beach and the party relaxing in her carseat. She never complained, just moved between sleeping and watching all the people and excitement.
Xander also loved the snakes.
This had to be the world's largest sparkler.
Contrary to the look on his face here, he really loved it.
Right after the first loud firecracker, Xander was ready to go home. A goodbye hug from Roselli and we were off.
