Christmas 2008
Christmas Eve under the tree.
Xander told me he wanted to hold Clare's hand, but he also wanted to dance. So he did both.
Still holding her hand.
Christmas morning: Santa brought Xander the violin he was hoping for.
And yet another lawn mower.
Opening presents from Grammy Eve, Grandma Mary, Rachele and Troy, Grandpa and Grandma Harger, and CJ -- oh, and Mommy and Daddy, too! Many, many gifts were opened.
But he'd take breaks from time to time and go back to his violin.
Clare finally woke up and joined us, rosy cheeks and all.
Yeah, matching pajamas might be a bit much, but I figured it was my only chance; check back next year and see if Xander vetoes the idea when he's a big boy of 5.
Clare was clearly interested in the unwrapping.
Sneaky!
But there were plenty of fun toys to go around.
Michael got a guitar from Mary and Xander immediately ran upstairs to get his so they could play together.
Poor Clare hasn't really had many toys of her own; just hand-me-downs from Xander. Not a problem anymore. Everyone lavished new playthings on her and she loves them all.
Xander likes a lot of her new toys, too.
Watching Xander play with a race car ramp from Grandma Mary and new race cars from Grandpa Charlie and Grandma Liz.

Playing "Let's Go Fishin'!"

We had a great day and hope you did, too!
