We left yesterday afternoon. And despite Clare's glum expression here, the rest of us were really excited to be heading back to our old home to see friends and favorite places.
First stop: the Shaughnessy's house for dinner.
The big kids were having fun and being tremendously loud. Clare steered clear of them for the most part, but kept pointing out how much noise they were making.
We're staying at Kit's parents' vacation house, which is fantastic. It even has a water view! Clare loves all the stairs.
Xander immediately emptied this cool dollhouse of about 100 pieces of furniture so he could drive cars around inside it.
Today we went back to the college where I worked and Xander went to preschool before we moved. We visited with my old boss, and then X wanted to show Clare the "ball of water" he was obsessed with when he was little.
We walked through our favorite building on campus...

Xander asked if he could visit his old school. We walked over and saw so many of his old teachers and classmates. He loved every minute of it.
Next we headed to Jack and Anna's house.
Sweet Anna. They have the best basement playroom ever.
Clare agrees.
We spent the rest of the afternoon back at the house we're staying at, while Michael finished up his meetings at WWU. Xander and Clare had their usual nightly sillies, where they just make each other laugh and laugh. Definitely a favorite part of my day.
A babysitter came over to watch the Xander a bit later, after Clare's bedtime, and Michael and I went out to eat with Julie and Damon.
