Clare was feeling particularly shy on Friday morning when she woke up to find...

Kate!

Kate and I spent a fantastic weekend together in Portland,
celebrating my 40th birthday (after this quick pit stop in Olympia,
due to some flight delays late Thursday).

The kids had a great weekend with Michael doing solo parenting duty.
We spent Sunday afternoon playing outside.

"On your mark...get set...go!"

Taking a picture to send to Kate and Annie via my iPhone.
(The owl was a gift from Kate.)

Watching Xander's new favorite show:
Busytown Mysteries: Hurray for Huckle!

Waiting for Xander at the bus stop. She insists on carrying
something different every day.

Our neighbors are on vacation this week and let Xander take their garbage
and yard waste toters to and from the curb. He was so excited to help.
He also took the opportunity to go in their back yard and examine
how they've stored their summer furniture (their umbrella, table, chairs,
and grill have long been an obsession with him; he builds mock-ups
of their back yard all the time.)

Taking out our garbage after doing the Zimmermans'.

What a gorgeous sky.

Still fascinated by the garbage truck. It never gets old.
