Clare's Portland and Seattle rock-n-roll adventures

We got up very early and hit the road for Portland.

Stopped in Olympia at our old favorite coffee shop, for a latte and hot chocolate.

Had to drive by the old house, of course.

Lunch at Burgerville!

We arranged an early check-in at our awesome hotel, which was right next door to that night's venue.

Heading down to meet the band for load-in and soundcheck.

Helping me test the light for taking photos of Juliana and the band.

Clare on stage as the band set up their instruments.

Listening to soundcheck.

Hanging out with the band backstage before the show.

The club let Clare stay for the show, so long as we kept the backstage area alcohol-free and didn't have her go out into the crowd.

She and I had this cool little hallway behind the stage so we could move from stage left to stage right throughout the show.

My friend Doug snapped this photo of Clare during the show.

Juliana playing Clare's favorite song of hers, and Clare videotaping it.

Juliana even dedicated a song to Clare during the set.

The next day, we met up with the band in Seattle at the radio station KEXP, where they were set to perform live.

Clare and I got there first, and the staff led us to the very cool green room to wait for them.

I took a lot of photos during the soundcheck and even got some video the station used to promo the event on social media.

Clare got the whole hanging-out-and-waiting-in-the-green-room thing down pat. She's a natural.

During the live show, Clare and I watched together from the control room.

KEXP has the artists sign their wallpaper. Clare found one of her first favorite bands: Casper Babypants!

Snapped some photos with Juliana after her photo shoot with KEXP's professional photographer.

Everyone was so welcoming to Clare and it was great to have her be with me while doing the work I do for Juliana.
