A gazillion more birthday photos

Our neighbor Rhonda giving Xander five spanks and "a pinch to grow an inch."

All the kids ran around the museum for the first hour of the party.

Jade drives Benjamin in the delivery truck.

Leo checks out the peg wall.

Kiri, Nicky, and Henry do a little road construction.

Henry watches Brandon dive into the "rocks."

Xander and Seth at the peg wall.

Can you tell Xander was having fun?

Leo and Henry doing their thing.

Clare likes Benjamin.

Xander doesn't like birthday cake, so I got him a huge chocolate chip cookie from Wagner's. Definitely a hit.

Singing "Happy Birthday" to Xander.

Blowing out four of the five candles. Brandon got the last one for him.

Clare was so great. Without us even noticing, she climbed up to the table as everyone else got settled in. She sat there like one of the big kids and dug right into her cookie (well, the frosting anyway) with gusto.

Xander served all his guests before getting his own piece of cookie.

Green frosting is goooood.

Clare blending in with the big kids.

Presents!

Surrounded by party guests and gifts.

Just chilling, watching Xander open up a bunch of fun stuff she fully intends to play with later.

Xander had a great time at his party and I think all his guests did, too.

Playing with the awesome construction toy he got from Jade. Andrea, Jade's mom, was with Xander's preschool class when they went on a field trip down to the Farmer's Market (and, therefore, to his favorite cranes). So I'm sure she got an earful about his love of cranes. Such a perfect gift for him!

Xander got to choose dinner, so of course the guys had nachos.

They ate them in front of the Iowa/Michigan game. Go Hawkeyes!

The game got tense at times, but the Hawkeyes pulled it out.

Ask Xander to take a picture with Daddy and he's totally cute...

...ask him to take one with Mommy and he's not quite so amenable.

Yup.

Hey, there's a pretty good one (except for the mouthful of nachos)!

One more cake for good measure (Michael's amazing chocolate cake, which Xander had at his first and second birthday parties). X had such a great day. Thanks to everyone who helped make it so awesome!
