The kids (and Michael, let's be honest) spoiled me
on Mother's Day. |
Xander and I headed up to a Mariners game in Seattle. One of his
favorite parts of going to a baseball game is parking in the Qwest Field
parking lot and getting to walk right by the football/soccer stadium. |
We lined up with hundreds (thousands?) of other Little League
baseball players to walk around the warning track of the field. |
Waiting patiently to go down below, where X very excitedly
got to see the "Uniform Pick-Up" area. |
| Almost on the field! |
As we were walking in, the roof started to open.
You can imagine Xander's reaction to this. |
| High fiving the bat girls. |
| Pretending to catch a deeply hit ball. |
| Time for a chocolate shake before the game starts. |
| Standing for the national anthem. |
| Serious about watching Ichiro. |
Also serious about reading his new Mariners magazine
| He did actually watch the game some, too. |
| It was perfect baseball weather. |
Xander's first taste of cotton candy. He liked it,
but not enough to finish the whole thing. |
| Playing with his new toy bat on the walk back to the car. |
| What number is Ichiro again? |
Every great pitcher has to start somewhere. Also? That dummy batter
is in a Yankees uniform, so I secretly cheered when X beaned him
in the noggin' on his first pitch.
