Tots-n-Tunes at the Seattle Center

We spent last Sunday -- a gorgeous day! -- right underneath
the Space Needle at the Tots-n-Tunes music festival.

We met up with my friend Kelli and her family;
Annabelle is in Xander's class and Matt (or, as Xander calls

him, "Mr. Samson") is the 4/5 grade teacher in X's program.
Annabelle wanted her picture taken with one of the bands,
Recess Monkey, but only if Xander would join her.
Xander loves Recess Monkey and has seen them play before.
Sadly, he was sick this year and couldn't join Clare and me
when they played their annual Olympia show. Next year.
Dangit, I missed this shot where Xander excitedly gave
his favorite Recess Monkey a big high five.
Xander adores Matt. Serious adoration.
(He's the teacher who invited X to be in the pirate skit
last year at the all-school assembly.)
They did not call one another that morning
to coordinate their outfits.

Dancing.
Xander was so excited when the Mariner Moose showed up.

Can you tell?

We took a break from the music to let the kids
run around in the International Fountain.

Then back to the music.

The Mariner Moose returned and gave Xander
and Annabelle the Ichiro-designed t-shirt
that was a big giveaway at a recent Mariners game.
Xander couldn't believe his luck.

More dancing.

Xander was especially excited here, as Recess Monkey
played his favorite song, "Jet Pack."

We said goodbye to the Samsons after the show and headed
to Uneeda Burger in Freemont. Still the best burger
I've ever had.

Xander is partial to the chocolate shakes.
