Seattle Baseball Weekend

Our neighbor Bill generously invited Michael and Xander
to join him, Brandon and Billy in a home plate suite at Safeco
Field last Saturday.

Great view.

Tons of free food and, perhaps most excitingly for Xander,
a free copy of the latest Mariners magazine.

Watching the game closely.

Doing a little dancing.

Okay, a lot of dancing.

And then they caught sight of Randy Johnson
(who was inducted, along with Dan Wilson, into the Mariners
Hall of Fame before the game) in the owner's box nearby.

And soon Dan Wilson himself showed up,
as well as Jay Buehner.
It was a very good day.

Meanwhile, Clare and I played at Kate, Jessica,
and Henry's house.

Of course, as soon as the boys returned from the game,
Xander and Henry spent the rest of the evening playing baseball.

The adults relaxed.

And the next day, we took Clare to her very first Mariners game!

Her first glimpse of the field in person.

The traditional pre-game chocolate shake.
Sigh.

"Catching" a ball at the wall in the Hall of Fame area of Safeco.

He was so excited to see the new Randy Johnson and Dan Wilson exhibit.
Ballpark food at its best: cheeseburgers, pizza, and french fries.

Clare showing off her very first Mariners hat.

Watching Felix Hernandez warm up before the game.

Cheering on the Ms.

One last shot of M and X as Clare and I left early
(it's hard to sit through a whole game when you're four.)

Walking over the train tracks to get to the light rail station.

A view of the open roof.

Taking the train back to Kate and Jessica's.

Xander's thank you card for Bill. :)
