Xander has always loved the lawnmower.
His lifelong dream of mowing the lawn for real has finally come true. :)
Very proud of himself.
The kids (and Michael) made sure I had a lovely Mother's Day.

Having some sort of Minecraft character give me more flowers on Mother's Day. :)
Their second cousin Jackson sent this paper character for a class project. The kids took photos of him around Bellingham and sent back stories about his adventures here in the Pacific Northwest. We then mailed him off to Scotland!
Eleven going on 20.
Eating the last of Clare's birthday cake, made by Michael.

I never get tired of watching X play first base. He ended this game with an astounding line-drive catch, which he then turned into a double-play at second.

Coach Brueske gave X one of the game balls, in recognition of his great night.
Waiting with his teammate Isaac before tournament games in Seattle. They were playing at the middle school where Bill Gates met Paul Allen when they were young. The separate athletic complex, donated by Allen, was amazing.

Playing with Coach's youngest son before their first game.
X got to play against the other son of his NBA idol Nate Robinson.

A couple days later, a video of Xander playing against Robinson's son showed up on his Instagram feed. Xander follows him, so he thought that was pretty cool.
We've finally given in and let Clare play some games on her phone during part of X's basketball games.
We stopped at the Lego store on the way back home, since Clare had some birthday money to burn.
Wiped out after a long day of hard basketball games.

Xander snapped this photo of us out celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary at The Fork.
The kids loved their first "fancy" restaurant experience.
We're down to only a couple more spring baseball games. This was a game against Anacortes, the only team who has beat the Titans all season. We womped them, winning by 10 runs.

Getting ready to walk to school on Friday for Bike/Walk To School Day.

Our friends invited us to their block party last night, where they had a taco truck and an ice cream truck. We had so much fun that Clare stayed there while I ran X to basketball practice, and then a friend dropped X off afterward for more street baseball and scootering until well after dark.
The view from our friends' deck overlooking Lake Whatcom.
When Clare wanted to take a break from all that scooter-ing, Jillian set her up with a fantastic spot to read on the deck.

Clare's Wild Whatcom cohort, the Fiddleheads, did a service project today, cleaning up the monuments and brick pathways at Memorial Park in the Sunnyland neighborhood.
