Wrapping up at Clare's last Girls on the Run practice.
Heading in to the Silver Beach Open House.

Clare showing us some of her work.

Watching a video Clare was a part of.

Showing us some of the instruments in the music room.

Bellingham Bells season opener!

It was a perfect night for baseball and they won big.

Clare didn't want to pose for a photo, but sometimes Mom takes one anyway.

Watching the post-game fireworks with some of his middle school classmates.

Getting ready to run the Girls on the Run 5K!

Batman on the Run?

Batman elbowed Xander right as I snapped this one.

Team Silver Beach!

Running with a couple of school friends.

And they're off!

Xander -- who had never run a 5K before -- came in 7th or 8th in just over 24 minutes. I think we have a runner on our hands! (He's decided he wants to join the cross country team next school year.)

Hank and Xander cooling off after being some of the first across the finish line.

The only way he's ever gonna get ice cream at 10am on a Saturday.

Here come Clare and Michael!

Anya ran, too!

Clare and Lucy.

We spent Sunday afternoon hanging with Taya and Anya. We walked down to Fairhaven for lunch and a bit of shopping.

Ready to try her very first hamburger!

No surprise: not a big fan. But at least she tried it! This continues her mean streak of (finally) trying some new things this past week: steak (huge thumbs up!), garlic bread (yes!), asparagus (so-so), and hot dogs (nope). I count it all as progress!

Playing Hangman at lunch.

Had to stop by Anya's favorite neighborhood tree on our trek back up South Hill.
