Sledge Summer Vacation 2018: Day 4

Started our day by starting by the just-opened brand new Celtics training facility.

Happened to drive right by TD Garden (home of the Celtics) just a few minutes later.

We drove north, headed to the beach, and stopped for lunch at a nice spot in Gloucester.

And then it was beach time!

There's a little island you can walk out to when the tide is low.

Clare was definitely in her happy place -- and the rest of us really enjoyed it, too.

Waiting on the front porch for our Uber to take us to...

Fenway!!

Walking over the bridge to get to the park.

Tickets procured from will call -- with huge thanks to my friend Michael Creamer for letting us sit in his season ticketholder seats. He stopped by mid-game to say hello (he's got in-and-out privileges at Fenway right now because he's working on a summer concert series taking place there) and I'm still bummed I didn't snap a photo of us together.

Heading in!

We've waited a long, long time to get to a game in this historic ballpark.

I may have shed a few (quiet) tears.

Trying to get a ball during Mariners warm-ups.

Checking out our seats.

Not bad!!

My friend Josh, the Red Sox organist, on the big screen during the 7th inning stretch.

Clare loved posing for photos with us at the game.

Just after the game, as the crowds cleared out and the field crew started their work, we waited to meet up with Josh.

Look closely and you'll spot Xander taking the following photo.

Sitting at Josh's organ, high above the field.

And, finally, the kind and generous Josh Kantor -- can't thank him enough for meeting the family and giving them a peek into his cool little corner of Fenway.
