Sledge Summer Vacation 2018: Day 3

Started the day with a Duck Tour.

Clare loves it when I ask her to pose for a photo.

Trinity Church reflected in the John Hancock Building.

Hitting the Charles River.

After our Duck Tour, we headed to the historic Union Oyster House for lunch.

JFK's favorite booth at the Union Oyster House.

Goofing in the gift shop.

Walking through the New England Holocaust Memorial across the street after lunch.

This is the only photographic/video evidence I kept of poor Michael after he was pulled into a street performance group's schtick. There was dancing. It was hysterical. He is a Very Good Sport.

Walking around the North End and along the Freedom Trail.

Can't not stop at famous Mike's Bakery.

Paul Revere statue.

Enjoying their Mike's Bakery goodies on the Paul Revere Mall.

Heading to the Old North Church, where Paul Revere sent the infamous "one if by land, two if by sea" signal.

Old North Church.

Sitting in a set of pews inside the church.

On April 18, 1775, Paul Revere told three Boston patriots to hang two lanterns in the church's steeple -- they carried the lanterns up that winding staircase on the right, squeezed behind the pipe organ and through a small door into the tower, and then climbed eight stories -- to signal that the British were leaving Boston, rowing across the Charles, and heading to Concord.

Another old graveyard.

Tons of the 1600 and 1700 gravestones had these skull-and-crossbones designs on them.

The Old North Church steeple as seen from Paul Revere Mall.

Dinner in.

The guys watched the NBA draft and Clare didn't want to head out again, so I took a solo drive around Central Square, Harvard Square, and Somerville. Snapped this photo of one of my favorite houses on our street
