Peter's birthday, first visit from the Tooth Fairy & first time meeting his kindergarten classmates

Xander helped Cashel put cookies at all the place settings
for Peter's first birthday party on Sunday.

It was Xander and Clare's first birthday party at a restaurant,
complete with seating chart. Fancy!

It will surprise no one who knows them that Xander and Clare both passed
on all the delicious Chinese food. Xander did eat some rice. Crazy kids.

Very serious about her after-dinner reading.

Xander put his tooth in the special Tooth Fairy pillow
we got just for the occasion, then decided where he wanted to leave it.
He was so excited the next morning to find four quarters.

Showing off his new smile.

Thank goodness Xander's kindergarten program is in the afternoons. That way he'll never miss seeing the garbage truck!

Clare likes to watch for it, too.

I like that Xander brings the garbage can in immediately -- before the garbage man is even gone.

Xander and Kiri met up at their new school's ice cream social yesterday afternoon. They brought their school supplies, talked with Mrs. Swett, and met their classmates.

Xander's ready. He's making new friends already.

It's no wonder X couldn't wait to get there.

Showing Kiri a book he remembers from the day last spring when he and I visited Mrs. Swett's class for a "sneak-peek" into kindergarten.

He called Clare over to see it, too.
