Xander and some of his D-Block buddies have started meeting up regularly at a nearby school for extra hoops practice.

I dropped him off one evening and noticed a group of high school boys playing on the other half of the space. When I picked him up, they'd made friends and mixed their teams so they could all scrimmage together.

It was a momentous day in the Sledge household when Meowy married Captain America.

Clare invited Mom, Dad and Xander, but not our neighbor Fiona (who had invited Clare to a marriage between stuffies at her house the previous day), because "Moewy doesn't even know Fiona!" :)

End-of-season D-Block party at a local pizza place/arcade.

Caiden is now taller than Xander -- X has some catching up to do!

Xander and Coach Mike.

Clare still (and always) into her LEGOs.

Spring competitive baseball tryouts!

X made the team!

2009. This year will be his ninth baseball season. ::sniff::

At the annual Meat Loaf Bake-Off.

Took a break to watch the men's WWU basketball team win the GNAC tournament!

Patrice will miss the next couple of bake-offs, as she's heading to the Ukraine to serve in the Peace Corps.

Homework time, every night before bed.

Our buddy Emily, who works for ESPN, offered us free tickets to the Celtics game last week, in northern California. Too bad we were 663 miles away! She's told Xander he's got an open invitation to her couch anytime he can get down for a game. (Dream on, Xander...)

X and a few of his D-Block teammates raised money for the American Heart Association through the annual Hearts for Hoops event at his school.

X's team did great -- winning 13 out of 15 rounds, some of them against 7th and 8th grade teams.

He had to defend his art teacher during one round.

Shaking hands after getting beat by Jacob's team.

Such a great group of kids.

Xander's team. X donated $20 of his own money and ended up raising $80 total!

Friday night was spent in Lynden with the D-Block crew, eating pizza and then watching the City vs. County Senior game.

Clare had a really, really rough week. She had a virus that knocked her flat for several days, and ended up dehydrated and in the ER for IV fluids. She bounced back quickly after that and is back to 100%.

Wheeling our way out of the hospital...
